HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKE
Piccola HD TItanium. When the place to be is EXACTELY NOWHERE.
Yearning for untouched, loamy trails off the grid, even at the risk of getting stuck somewhere in the middle of nowhere? With a featherweight Piccola pump, a powerful C42 four-piston caliper, and brand new 3D-printed titanium levers, it’s made to perform where things get rough.
HYDRAULIC TRANSMISSION RATIO
The hydraulic transmission ratio refers to the ratio of the piston surfaces of the pump piston to the caliper pistons. The ratio determines the force that is transmitted to the brake pads. The higher the transmission ratio, the greater the braking force at a given input force, whereby the diameter of the pistons has a crucial influence on the braking power.
All Trickstuff brakes are equipped with a 9mm pump piston which enables a higher hydraulic transmission ratio compared to conventional 10mm pump pistons. The size and number of caliper pistons differs depending on the brake model and intended use.

MODULATION
The intuitive and consistent modulation of a brake is crucial for the precise control of braking force
PRESSURE-RESISTENT POM PUMP PISTONS
The pump pistons are made of pressure-stable POM plastic, which has excellent wear resistance and sliding properties. The resulting ease of movement in the anodized pump piston track ensures that the mechanism runs smoothly. POM exhibits very little material abrasion, which means that the sliding properties remain unchanged over time.![]()
PRODUCT DETAILS
Fed up with bike park highways? Yearning for untouched, loamy trails off the grid, even at the risk of getting stuck somewhere in the middle of nowhere? That's exactly where you'll find yourself, in the terrain of the Piccola HD Titanium. Where steadiness and climbing skills are put to the test, the Piccola HD Titanium shines with its combination of the graceful Piccola pump and the powerful C42 four-piston caliper. 3D printed titanium brake levers and radially arranged brake pumps lighten the ascent to trails without lift access. With its strong hydraulic ratio of 9mm at the pump piston to 14/17mm in the caliper, it bulldozes the brake oil into the four pistons with serious oomph - and brings you safely to a standstill when those unexpected obstacles jump out of nowhere. Heat-resistant hollow stainless steel pistons and Bionol brake oil prevent interrupting the flow during top-to-bottom runs with unnecessary cool-down breaks, unless you need one yourself.

THE LEVER
The lever is crafted from titanium, a material known for its exceptional fracture toughness and corrosion resistance. As a go-to choice in highly demanding industries, such as medical technology and aerospace, the material offers significant advantages. Thanks to its higher strength compared to aluminum, less material is needed to achieve the same physical performance. While titanium isn’t inherently lighter than aluminum, the use of additive manufacturing enables the design of a lever that’s both lighter and stronger overall.
Inside, partially hollow printed structures further reduce weight while maintaining impressive strength. Titanium doesn’t react to moisture or sweat, so there’s no need for extra coatings to protect against corrosion.
The contact surface features a unique honeycomb structure that’s impossible to create with traditional machining. This design not only reduces weight, in combination with the optimized surface texture it also provides a grippy texture for secure handling, even without gloves.

BALL BEARING BRAKE LEVERS
All brake pumps from Trickstuff brakes are equipped with four ball bearings: two in the main pivot and two for the connecting rod. The ball bearings are characterized by low and constant friction over the entire rotation range of the lever. While the ball bearings prevent radial lever play, a tiny ball made of POM plastic, which is clamped in the barrel nut, ensures that Trickstuff brake levers also have no axial play. The resulting complete lack of play and constant low friction provides a predictable braking characteristic that enables precise control of the braking force

ANDONIZED 7075 ALUMINUM
The pump and caliper housings are made of high-quality, high-tensile milled-CNC 7075 aluminum. Anodizing the components increases the surface hardness and provides scratch and corrosion resistance.
The anodization extends into the piston track, which not only is very durable, but also has improved friction properties through subsequent polishing. A low-friction and consistent running of the mechanism is assured.

ANDREAS TONELLI
The new Piccola HD Titanium is phenomenal! During our bike expedition on Cerro Mercedario (6.770 meter above sea level) in Argentina, the brake proved itself absolutely reliable. The Piccola HD Titanium is incredibly light and maintained its sensational braking performance and modulation even in extreme altitudes, temperatures, and descents (almost 4,000 meters in one go), where all other brakes typically fail.
The 3D-printed titanium brake lever is a masterpiece of engineering: It feels amazing, provides a secure grip, and doesn’t slip. It’s lightweight, virtually unbreakable, and visually a real eye-catcher. I have to say, I’m impressed and have complete confidence in this brake
